Have you ever twerked?

I was doing the normal morning routine –like forcing myself to get out of bed — when my sister sent me a text with the nails she planned on getting. I loved the design she sent me and noticed that she found the picture of the nails on Instagram. The user name was @we_twerk_them_nails. My nails were not looking to hot, so I wanted to grab some ideas. That is when I saw what I wanted to do to my nails! The colors just look outstanding together. I had to give it a try.IMG_8846

To start this look off, I grabbed four colors that would look similar to the ones in the picture. I used L’Oreal Tangerine Crush, Opi’s Suzi Says Feng Shui, Pro Gel’s Electric Pink and Essie’s Mint Candy Apple. Let us not forget about the black stripe rite brush! You can use whatever colors you would like, these are just the ones I owned that would work together.

Let’s start with the base colors. On the thumb and pinky fingers paint Electric Pink. Continue onto the middle finger with Tangerine Crush. After, draw two parallel black lines using the black stripe rite brush on the index and ring fingers. You should get a little something like this. IMG_8849

Don’t worry about the black lines being perfect because, you will paint over them.

Add another coat of polish to the thumb, middle and pinky fingers.

Now, onto the ring and index fingers. For this design I would suggest doing them one at a time. Taking the black stripe rite brush draw two diagonal lines, which will makes the design look like four to five small triangles. There is an example pictured below.

Take the stripe rite brush and go back over the lines that were previously made. I would take this part very slow and steady to prevent any messy lines.

Finally, I used gold and pink Caviar beads to complete the look. To add the beads I just used a dotting tool that had been dipped in a top coat polish. This helps the beads stick to the nail.

So far your nails should look a something like this!

Time to move on to the Electric Pink nails. Using a dotting tool place a dot of Suzi Says Feng Shui near the nail bed to complete the look for the thumb and pinky fingers.

For the middle finger use a dotting tool and alternate Suzi Says Feng Shui and Electric pick creating a cross shape. After those dry, using the same process as the ring and index fingers, take a dotting tool and place gold caviar beds which will outline the cross shape that you just made with the alternating dots. Finish with a top coat and that’s all there is to it! IMG_8857

Happy Painting! 🙂

Edgy nails

Well exams are coming to an end and seniors graduate soon. Through all this studying I still had to paint and post some nails. I wanted to do something different, something edgy with my nails. I had a little bit of inspiration from these two pictures.Nails-With-Golden-Designs-19 Nails-With-Golden-Designs-33I found these and many other nails with golden designs on Fashion Diva Design.

What I took from these two looks was this…IMG_7828

I felt like Rihanna wearing these nails. In other words a B.A…if you know what I mean.

To get this look I painted a base coat then, painted Sinful color’s Black on Black on all of my nails, except for the index fingers and pinky fingers. On the pinky fingers I painted two coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White. After letting that dry I painted OPIs Spark De Triomphe.

After the two coats of Black on Black dry, have your rhinestones kit, dotting tool, piece of paper and clear nail polish ready to use.

IMG_7820

Place the rhinestones on the nail however you wish. I placed the rhinestones in rows starting from the nail bed and ending at the nail tip.

IMG_7821

On the index finger that was left unpainted, take stripping tape –I used silver– and line the nail just below the tip then, connect another strip of stripping tape making the triangle shape. Repeat this step on both sides.

Finish the look with a top coat. Yes you should paint over the rhinestones as well.
